At SRS Music & STEAM, we offer group classes designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection. From strings and folk fiddle jamming to block-based coding, computer science, and hands-on science experiments, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our courses are available in person or online and can be tailored for homeschool enrichment, PTO-sponsored after-school programs, private groups, community groups, adult hobby groups, and more.
Looking for a unique experience? We also offer one-time classes, perfect for adding a fun and educational twist to birthday parties, scouting events, or club gatherings. Music Workshops
Bright Beginnings for Strings
Perfect for brand-new strings students and those with up to a year of playing experience.
Get started on your musical journey with a closer look at good posture, bow grip, and tone. Practice strings techniques through fun games and exercises. Cheer each other on in a lighthearted and supportive environment. Experience demonstrations, feedback, and encouragement as you learn your first strings techniques.
Super Strings Solos and Songs
For students looking to improve their violin or viola skills, this class builds on fundamental strings techniques, focusing on skills including bow hold, intonation, and posture. Taught through fun solo pieces and exercises, it’s a great option for students of all experience levels who want to develop their musicianship. This class is also great for reluctant practices as the group atmosphere will encourage more playing and improvement, without extra parental nagging and frustration!
Folk Music Fun!
Learn to play fiddle tunes and jam with other musicians! Play old-time, bluegrass, Irish, or other traditional fiddle tunes through a tune-teach format. Improve listening skills and play by ear. Violin and viola players will add to their repertoire and learn new tunes. Cello, guitar and mandolin students are welcome too!
STEAM Classes
Coding & Computer Science With Scratch
Computer science is for everyone! Scratch is a great introduction to coding and computer science concepts. Learn to create your own animations, games, and programs. Think creatively, reason, and collaborate. With Scratch, you’ll practice these essential skills for everyone in today’s society.
This class uses concepts and standards from the K-12 Computer Science Framework. Lessons incorporate key practices and concepts that go beyond creating games. Learn computer science vocabulary and ideas that transfer to future learning. Have fun while building thinking and problem-solving skills.
Music & Sound in Scratch
Computer science and music have a lot in common. Get creative with Scratch programming! Learn to compose sound effects, rhythms, and musical compositions with Scratch’s block-based coding platform. Use computer science concepts to program with sound!
This class includes programming challenges for beginners and experienced Scratch coders. Musical learners will love creating with sound. Get creative as you explore sound, compose beats, and write music. Use your creativity and computational thinking at the same time.
Level-Up Coding with Micro:bit
What is a Micro:Bit?

Level-Up Coding with MakeCode Arcade
Ready to take your coding to the next level? Bridge the gap between block-based coding and text-based programs with MakeCode Arcade!
This class is perfect for students with some block-based coding experience. Learn to build games and programs using Microsoft’s MakeCode. Make most of your games in JavaScript. Students will also have the opportunity to explore a little bit of Python.
